What is the Southern Regional Gathering? The SRG (Southern Regional Gathering) is an event for D56 collectors to get together to have fun, buy, sell, and learn more about their collection. There is a wide range of activities that cater to all collectors, new and old. The SRG was first held in 1992 in Greenville, SC. After five years it was moved to Atlanta in 1997 and 1998. In 1999 and 2000 it was held again in Greenville. Then in 2003 after a two year hiatus it was held in Deerfield Beach Florida. Now in 2004 it is back in Atlanta.

What is Room Hopping? Room Hopping at the SRG is a social shopping experience. Inside of the Renaissance Hotel collectors, Vendors, and retail dealers open their rooms to sell Retired D56 items and to host hospitality rooms to promote their stores. The atrium style hotel adds to the room hopping enjoyment by allowing participants to see other participants and open rooms through-out the hotel. In short, room hopping is the place to shop and mingle with other collectors.

What is a Make & Take? A make and take is a hands on seminar where a small number of people can create something to go in their display with help for a small fee.

Where is the SRG? The SRG is held in the Renaissance Concourse Hotel next to the Atlanta Airport.

How do I get there? If you fly to the Atlanta Airport there is a free hotel shuttle 24 hours a day to and from the airport. If you drive the hotel is located off of I-85 and Virginia Ave which is on the south side of Atlanta. There will also be directions and a map available on this web site before the show.

How can I visit downtown Atlanta without a car? You can take the free hotel shuttle to the airport and then take MARTA into downtown for a low price of $1.75 each way.

What will the weather be like? Atlanta in June is warm to hot. Not as bad as July or August though. However the show is completely inside the hotel and it will be comfortable inside the hotel regardless of the outside weather.

What do I wear? Think casual and comfortable. Wear comfortable shoes. You may want something a little nicer for Saturday Nite Live II and the Sunday breakfast but if you wear shorts to those events I won't mind. You might want a bathing suit for the indoor and outdoor pools at the hotel.

Who runs the SRG? This year the Southern 56er's Collectors Club in Atlanta is the host club for the show. We are all volunteers.

What happens to the money from the show? All profits from the show go to charity. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation/Camp Kudzu and the American Cancer Society/Breast Cancer Research Foundation are our two charities for 2004. The past ten SRG's Have been fortunate and proud to have donated about $100,000 to a variety of worth-while charities.

When will I get my tickets? You will pick up your tickets at the show. Watch for a mail/E-mail about 3 weeks before the show with directions and other show information.
